Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive 2012

This Saturday, May 12th is the National Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive!  You have a week to go through your kitchen pantry, drawers, and cupboards!  Any extra food items you have or know that your family will not use you can simply place in a bag and leave it by your mailbox!  Your mail carrier will then collect the bags of food on Saturday as they are making their daily mail deliveries!  Donating couldn’t be easier!!

I have a neighborhood cluster mailbox (you know, the kind where the whole street picks up their mail from 1 set of mail boxes) so each year I leave a note in my mailbox stating that my bags of food to donate are by my front door!  My mail carrier doesn’t mind!

So if you need an excuse to go through your pantry and really spring clean and check those expiration dates, then here’s your opportunity!

Donate items like canned meats, fish, soup, bottled juice, vegetables, pasta, cereal and rice that do not require refrigeration. Please do not include items that have expired or are in glass containers.

Saturday evening my husband gets to help unload all the food from the mail trucks at our local post office!  I can’t wait to see his pics of how much food comes in the help our local 3 Square Food Bank here in Las Vegas!

Please join us at Albertsons at 10250 West Charleston Blvd ( between Town Center and Hualapai)  in Las Vegas this Saturday from 11 am – 2 pm for our Top Floral Designers competition! Our four best floral designers will be going head to head to see who can create the best floral arrangement with surprise flower varieties we present to them just moments before they start creating. All four designers will be rewarded with a one-on-one training session with one of Las Vegas’ top floral designers!  Since Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, come check out our selection of floral bouquets and enjoy a complimentary wine and cheese tasting to make the big day extra special!

Here’s a FREE event for your little (and big) kiddos this Saturday  just in time for Halloween!  So come one, come all to this very special ball!

Albertsons (at the  Maryland Parkway and Silverado Ranch location)  invites all Las Vegas youngsters to a special Princess Party set for Saturday, Oct. 29, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.,  at the 9725 S. Maryland Parkway at Silverado Ranch store location.

“We welcome all young princesses to come dressed in their most royal finery for a wonderful celebration,” emphasized Albertsons’ Store Director Beverly McCartney.

 The event will feature princess cake walks, crown and tiara decorations, Snow White caramel-apple dipping station, a Cinderella pumpkin-patch and trick or treating throughout the store.  Plus, some of Albertsons’ best Las Vegas cake decorators will be put to the test in a special princess cake decorating competition.

The following Nevada royalty will be at the Princess Party to sign autographs:
